It's a Christmas Miracle!

After months of being on the verge, my baby boy started walking on his own today!!!! What a thrilling moment for my husband and I. We are joyful and proud. Hopefully all this walking back and forth will tire him enough to sleep through the night!!!!

What's New?

I finally had a home show. Not at my own house, thank goodness. I mean, who has time to clean?!!! A friend of a friend hosted an art party featuring my work along with jewelry by SilverSong and pottery by SaraBeth. It was a lot of fun and a great success. I am really diggin' Buying Handmade this holiday.

While my jewelry was popular, it was my handknit neckwear that sold like hotcakes. I made tons of scarves in several varieties and they all sold. I was quite pleased with that. I am anxious to make more but, alas, the tree needs to be decorated! Knitting has become a new obsession. I love the yarn I've been using. So soft and the colors are scrumptious. I've been making long ones, short ones, scarflets, ones with buttons, some with fringe, striped ones, solid ones, etc. Each is a pleasure to make and so unique. I'm actually looking forward to the cold winter now!!!

Check out the photos and look for new ones to grace my Etsy shop soon! I also need to find a model to use in my photographs!

Buying Handmade!!!

Recently I took a pledge to buy handmade (as much as possible) this holiday season. I am going to make this commitment forever! I have enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends on Etsy and am thrilled with all my new handmade items. Greeting cards, jewelry, magnets, candles, lip gloss, ornaments, etc. The quality of these items is exceptional and knowing that someone created them with their very own hands makes me feel awesome!

As a jewelry designer, I enjoy making things from scratch! A lot of *me* goes into each bauble I create and I think it shows. Beading is my therapy and meditation. I feel good when I am at my dining room table (my makeshift studio) and making beautiful things for beautiful women to wear.

I encourage you to take the handmade pledge also. There are so many wonderful artists out there. You WILL find just what you are looking for.
